Information on reservations, tradition and character in the Oktoberfest tent
Fischer-Vroni at the Oktoberfest
The Fischer-Vroni is famous for its Steckerlfisch: Fish are grilled to a crisp over a length of 15 meters. As a rule, the Fischer-Vroni is a rather cozy place, but not on the second Monday of Oktoberfest, when the gay and lesbian “Prosecco Wiesn” takes place here. Here you can find all the information you need, from reservations to the special features of the tent and the beer served.

Fischer-Vroni: More than 100 years at the Oktoberfest
The tradition of the Fischer-Vroni goes back to the first half of the 20th century. In 1914, Munich's first fish wholesaler, Karl Winter, founded his company “Fisch Winter KG”. This was followed by the opening of a store in Sendling and finally the sale of grilled fish plugs at the Oktoberfest - a novelty at the time. The marquee got its name from Winter's wife Philippine, who was known in the Munich area as “Fischer Vroni”.
Oktoberfest landladies Eva Stadtmüller and Anita Schmid sold fish at the Oktoberfest for almost half a century. At the beginning of the 2000s, the two sisters died within a short space of time. This marked the end of an era that has since been continued by Hans Stadtmüller, Eva Stadtmüller's son, as the Oktoberfest host.
The stork's nest on the roof gable is a characteristic feature of the festival tent.
Atmosphere in the Fischer-Vroni: coziness and gay-lesbian “Prosecco-Wiesn”

The Fischer-Vroni right next to the south entrance of the Oktoberfest has a traditional musical atmosphere. You can enjoy culinary specialties such as Steckerlfisch in a relaxed and cosy atmosphere.
But the Fischer-Vroni can also do things differently: every second Monday of the Oktoberfest, the tent becomes a party stronghold for the gay and lesbian scene at the “Prosecco Wiesn”. This tradition goes back to the now deceased gay landlord of Bar Prosecco, who reserved a few tables in the tent for his guests. Without further ado, many other gays and lesbians joined in. The party has since become an indispensable highlight of the Oktoberfest.
