Krinoline: Ride the carousel and listen to brass music
The Krinoline was already at the Oktoberfest in the 1920s, but it was not until 1938 that it got its unique selling point, which is still valid today: In order to attract more visitors, the operator at the time, Michael Großmann, had a brass band play. The idea worked, because almost 90 years later, many passengers still come to the Krinoline for this very reason.
The ride is leisurely, which is intentional, because hardly any other Oktoberfest ride stands so much for Bavarian cosiness and tradition. Sit in the sofa gondolas, chat with your neighbours and listen to the music - an experience that all visitors should have had at least once.
